Frequently Asked Questions

Answers Before You Ask

We believe in being upfront. Here are the questions we hear most often — answered honestly.

Getting Started

How do you prevent the same problems I had with my last agency?

Single ownership. One partner manages your entire marketing system — strategy, execution, and reporting. No finger-pointing between vendors. No "that's not our department." One person accountable for everything.

What happens on the first call?

It's a conversation, not a pitch. We'll ask about your business, your current marketing situation, what's working, what's not, and what you're hoping to achieve. You'll ask us questions too. By the end, we'll both know if there's potential for a fit — or not.

The call typically lasts 20-30 minutes with a senior team member who can answer your questions.

How do I know if we're a good fit?

You're likely a good fit if: You're an owner-operated business investing $10K–$100K+/month in marketing, you're tired of managing multiple vendors, and you're ready to commit to a 12-month partnership.

You're probably not a fit if: You're looking for a quick fix, you need to approve every piece of creative, or you expect guaranteed ROI within 90 days.

We'd rather be honest upfront than waste your time. See our Who It's For page for more detail.

What does "full-stack marketing" actually include?

Full-stack means we manage the six core functions that make marketing work as a system — not just one piece:

  • Paid Media & Lead Generation — campaigns that generate qualified leads, managed from ad to conversion
  • Websites & Landing Pages — campaign landing pages and conversion optimization (full website builds scoped separately)
  • SEO & Content Foundations — organic visibility that compounds over time
  • Organic Social Media — consistent presence that builds trust with your audience
  • Creative & Campaign Support — design direction, digital assets, AI-assisted video (photo/video production scoped separately)
  • Specialist Coordination — we direct designers, developers, and media buyers; manage third-party vendors (TV, radio, printers); handle invoices, approvals, and negotiations

The key difference: we manage these as one connected system under single ownership — not as disconnected services from different vendors.

What's included vs. scoped separately?

Included in your retainer (varies by investment level):

  • Ongoing management and optimization of active channels
  • Campaign landing pages and conversion optimization
  • Creative for ads, social, and campaigns
  • AI-assisted content creation
  • Coordination of your marketing team and vendors
  • Strategy calls and reporting

Always-on services (like social media management, ad optimization) keep running even while strategic projects rotate. Your retainer level determines how many channels are "always on."

Scoped and quoted separately (regardless of retainer level):

  • Full website builds ($4,000–$30,000+)
  • Photo shoots ($1,500–$6,000)
  • Video production ($2,500–$15,000+)
  • Rebranding projects
  • Advanced SEO programs
  • Print production (beyond design)
  • Promotional products and branded apparel — our vendor relationships secure the best combination of product, price, and quality with delivery anywhere in the U.S.

Your proposal will clearly outline what's included at your investment level. If something falls outside scope, we'll tell you upfront and provide a separate estimate before proceeding.

What's the onboarding process like?

After we agree to work together, we start with a discovery phase. We'll audit your current marketing — what's working, what's broken, where the gaps are. This usually takes 2-3 weeks.

From there, we build a unified strategy and begin execution. Most clients start seeing implementation within 30-45 days of signing.

Working Together

How much involvement do I need to have?

Less than you're used to. That's the whole point.

We need your input on strategy and major decisions, but we handle the day-to-day execution. Most clients have a 30-minute weekly check-in plus a monthly strategy call. For quick questions between meetings, email works best — we respond same business day. You won't be reviewing every social post or email — that's what you're hiring us to handle.

Who will I be working with?

You'll have a dedicated point of contact — either Robert or a senior project manager — who knows your business and stays with you throughout the engagement. No rotating account managers, no starting over every few months.

Behind the scenes, we coordinate a team of specialists (designers, developers, media buyers) who execute under our direction. You get the benefit of a full team without having to manage any of them.

What if I want to approve things before they go live?

For major campaigns, brand messaging, and strategic initiatives — absolutely. We'll collaborate on those.

But if you need to approve every social post, email, or small creative decision, we're probably not the right fit. Our model works because clients trust us to execute. If you need that level of control, an in-house employee might be a better option.

How do you communicate and report progress?

Weekly updates (brief email or short call), monthly strategy calls (30-45 minutes), and a written monthly recap documenting what we accomplished. We believe in transparency — you'll always know what we're working on and how things are performing.

We're also responsive to emails between meetings (same business day). We're partners, not distant vendors.

Multi-Brand & Locations

What if I have multiple locations?

Your scope scales with your partnership level. We work with single locations, multi-location businesses, franchises, and regional chains.

Focused Partnership

One strategic priority at a time. Always-on essentials (social, ads) keep running. When one project completes, we move to the next. Best for single locations building their foundation.

Growth Partnership

Multiple brands or initiatives get active attention simultaneously. More channels managed at once. Faster turnaround. Best for multi-brand businesses or 2–5 location franchises.

Full Partnership

All brands receive ongoing strategic attention. Full vendor management included. Dedicated capacity. Best for large multi-location operations and regional chains.

Additional locations beyond what's included in your partnership tier are typically +$1,500/month each — covering localized campaigns, listings management, and location-specific content.

How do you keep multiple brands consistent without being generic?

Each brand maintains its own voice, visual identity, and audience positioning. What stays unified is the strategy and coordination behind the scenes.

We create brand-specific guidelines and campaign frameworks that feel authentic to each brand while still benefiting from shared learnings and cross-brand efficiencies. One brand's successful campaign structure can inform another's — without copy-paste execution.

This is exactly why single ownership matters. When one partner understands all your brands, we can maintain individual identities while coordinating timing, budget allocation, and messaging hierarchy across the portfolio.

Can one brand get more attention if something urgent comes up?

Yes — that's what strategy calls are for. If a brand needs to respond to a market opportunity, competitive threat, or time-sensitive launch, we can shift the active priority.

The Quick Request Bank also handles smaller urgent items without disrupting the main priority. And maintenance-mode brands can always be escalated with advance notice.

What we won't do is pretend every brand can be a top priority simultaneously. That's how agencies burn out teams and deliver mediocre work across the board.

Pricing & Contracts

How much does it cost?

There are two components: our management fees and your marketing spend.

Management fees are based on scope and complexity — how many channels we're coordinating, the depth of strategy required, and the size of your operation. They're typically a fraction of what you're already spending on marketing.

Marketing spend (ad budgets, media buys, sponsorships, etc.) is separate. We work with clients investing $10K–$100K+/month in marketing — that's where our coordination and optimization creates real leverage.

We'll give you a clear proposal after our initial conversation. No hidden fees, no surprise invoices.

Why not just hire an in-house marketing person?

Short answer: One person can't do it all — and the math rarely works in your favor.

The real cost of hiring:

  • Entry-level coordinator: $45K–$60K (limited experience)
  • Mid-level manager: $75K–$120K (some gaps in expertise)
  • Senior director: $120K–$160K+ (vision but no bandwidth to execute)

Add 25–40% for benefits, taxes, and overhead. Then add $500–$2,000/month in software. A $75K hire actually costs $95K–$105K+ annually.

The capability gap: A PPC specialist doesn't know brand strategy. A social media pro has never run a multi-channel campaign. Even a senior director can't personally execute across every channel.

What you get with us: An entire team (strategists, media buyers, designers, analysts), 25 years of leadership experience, core marketing tools included (specialty platforms like chatbots or review tools quoted separately), and institutional knowledge from hundreds of campaigns — without the headcount, HR complexity, or six-figure salary commitment.

Why do you require 12-month contracts?

Because marketing doesn't work in sprints.

Building a real marketing system takes time. We need time to understand your business, implement strategy, gather data, learn what works, and optimize. Short-term engagements set everyone up for disappointment.

After month 12: The partnership continues month-to-month. Either party can cancel with 30-day notice. No lock-in — we earn your continued business every month.

Our longest client relationships span 20+ years. The 12-month minimum ensures we both have time to see real results.

What if things aren't working after a few months?

We'll know if things aren't working — and we'll tell you first. Our monthly recaps and weekly updates keep you informed on what's performing and what isn't.

If something isn't delivering, we adjust the approach on your active priority. We don't jump between brands or initiatives chasing quick wins — that's precisely what dilutes results. Real progress takes focused time. That's why we're upfront about the commitment required and why we use a capacity-based approach.

Do you work on retainer or project basis?

Retainer only. We don't do one-off projects.

Marketing is a system, not a series of disconnected projects. Our model only works when we can see the whole picture and optimize over time. See What We Don't Do for more on this.

Results & Expectations

Can you guarantee results?

No. And we'd be skeptical of anyone who does.

Marketing involves too many variables outside our control — your market, your competition, economic conditions, your sales team's follow-up. What we can guarantee is clear accountability, transparent reporting, and continuous optimization.

We show you what's working, what's not, and what we're doing about it. Our clients see real progress — but we won't make promises we can't control.

How long until I see results?

It depends on where you're starting from. Some tactics (like paid advertising) can show early signals within weeks. Others (like SEO or brand building) take months.

We typically see meaningful momentum around the 90-day mark, with compounding results over the following quarters. That's why we require 12-month partnerships — real marketing systems take time to mature.

What kind of results have your clients seen?

Our results vary by client and industry, but here are some examples:

ICON Golf Cars: 300+ qualified leads/month since 2022.
Fogg: 20+ year marketing partnership (since 2005).
Groff Family Services: 6 brands managed under one unified system.

Visit our Experience page for detailed case studies.

What makes you different from other agencies?

We do everything a good agency does — strategy, creative, media, web, analytics — but we do it as one coordinated system instead of disconnected services.

Most agencies sell à la carte. You end up with an SEO vendor, a social media vendor, a web developer, a designer — and you become the project manager connecting them all.

We manage your full marketing stack under single ownership. One partner, one system, clear accountability. When the six core marketing functions work together under one roof, results compound. And you get your time back.
